How to find us

From Belfast:

Take the 502a or the 502b Ulsterbus from Laganside Buscentre or Lanyon Place in Belfast City Centre, towards Cultra, Ulster Transport Museum. There is no bus from the new Grand Central Station. Disembark at Ulster Transport Museum and from there the museum is a short 2-3 minute walk and has fully accessible paths. 

From outside Belfast:

If you’re travelling to us by train, disembark at Cultra Station and the museum is 5 minutes from the platform via both step and ramp access routes.

From Belfast City Centre, take the A2 towards City Airport/Bangor/Holywood, then keep left onto the Sydenham By-Pass A2. Follow the A2 for 3.7miles until you reach the museum on your left-hand side, just past the Culloden Hotel.

Parking is free and available for all visitors, with two e-charging points for electric cars (EV). Car park opens at 10am and closes at 6pm. 

There are bike racks located on-site, down at B Galleries (Land, Sea and Sky building). Please note there are no facilities within the museum to store personal belongings.

Did you know? You can access the museum grounds directly from the North Down Coastal Path. It is free to access the grounds of the Transport Museum by foot or bike. It's only when you want to go into the museum galleries, you're charged admission. 

The gate opens and closes in line with museum opening hours at the bottom of this page.

Please note: the Ulster Transport Museum and Ulster Folk Museum now operate separately and a combined (dual) ticket is no longer available. Admission must be purchased separately for each museum.

While exploring the outdoor grounds of the museum is free, if you want to access the gallery buildings, you have to pay in. Please note however that the gift shop and admissions desk in B Galleries are currently closed. Please go via A Galleries for admission and the gift shop. 

Summer hours: 1st March - 30th September, open Tuesday - Sunday 10:00-17:00. 

Winter hours: 1st October - 28th February, open Tuesday - Friday 10:00-16:00 and on weekends Saturday - Sunday 11:00-16:00.

Ulster Transport Museum has two gallery buildings - A Galleries & B Galleries. Entry to both galleries is included in the cost of your ticket while exploring outdoors is free.
